have never paid an adoption fee.

    Our Goal
Many of the babies that arrive into our care are not house trained nor leash trained. Our main goal when they arrive is to let them know that they are loved and safe. We first address their veterinarian needs and then we meet their emotional needs. We spend endless hours holding them close to us, teaching them what belly rubs and kisses are all about, letting them know that each is very special to us. They are never scolded for having potty accidents in the house, this is the least of our concerns. When we know that they feel safe we then begin to gently work on house breaking and leash training issues. Many of our babies leave our care not fully house and leash trained, but they leave us packed full of love and trust and that is Our Goal!

    Pupster Sponsorships
We all know that there are different areas that we can help within rescues. Some individuals open their homes to the dogs for fostering, others aid in transports, vet visits and grooming appointments. We realize that many of our lives become very busy and there is just not enough time in the day.
A wonderful way for those of you that maintain a lifestyle that prohibits you from physically helping these sweet kids is through sponsorship.
Your name and location will be noted under the pupster you have chosen to sponsor. You will be kept updated on a monthly basis as to how your “Favorite Baby” is progressing.

    Sponsorship Auto Monthly
If you would like to sponsor one of our precious fosters, and would like to have your monthly sponsorship automatically paid via Paypal, please click on the Paypal button below. Many of our Sponsor Parents prefer this option.
If you prefer to pay on a month to month basis please click on the "Sponsor Me" button within each pupster's bio.

Sponsoring one of our pupsters is very fulfilling for you will be able to follow their progress as they heal emotionally and physically, grow to trust and find their Special Home that they so deserve.

    Caden

I am a 14 lb, white Pekingese boy. I am 13 yrs old. I am a retired breeder.
Please click on Caden's Video Clip to see me in action!
Mom says I am the most handsome Pekey boy she has ever seen. I am not too sure of myself at times and we are working on this. I just do not know if I can really trust or not. I do love the other pupsters and playtime is the greatest. Because of my lack of care in the breeding world my right eye was in horrible condition and I was in excruciating pain. Unfortunately the eye could not be saved, but now that I have healed from the surgery I feel so much better. Having one eye does not slow me down a bit. I will need a home with someone who has a lot of patience and can help me as I gradually know that the world around me is full of loving people. I have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and am on appropriate medications for my condition. I will need a fenced in yard and no children please.
To maintain my excellent health, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products. I am enjoying a yummy turkey & veggie mix raw diet now. Mom alternates between turkey, beef and chicken raw diets. Please read about my special diet. Mom adds the following supplements: digestive enzymes, probiotics, kelp, DMG and salmon oil for a healthy balanced meal. I hope that my forever Mom/Dad will love me enough to keep me on a raw diet.
I am working on house training and do well during grooming.
I am neutered, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.
We appreciate Alex Quasnitschka of Connecticut for lovingly sponsoring Caden.

    Elizabeth

I am a beautiful blonde and white, 14 lb, 12 yr old Pekingese girl.
I was adopted at a shelter in New Jersey by two very loving people. Unfortunately I had not been evaluated properly before being placed and I have some issues. I would bite out of fear. These wonderful people worked with me for 2 1/2 months and just could not figure out how to help me. They contacted PATR and we drove all the way to Michigan so that I could get help. I have been doing great and am a bit more comfortable now and know that no one is going to hurt me. I still am a bit unpredictable, particularly with strangers.
Mom does have to put me in another room for I will bite. I do have luxating patella in both back legs.
When I am adopted I will need a home with no children, someone who has lots of patience and experience with my kind of behavior. I will also need a fenced yard. I am still terrified of a leash and we are working on that.
I can be very difficult during grooming, but am house trained.
I am spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, on a monthly heartworm prevention and on a natural flea protection. Total vet costs can be seen at Foster Vetting Costs. My adoption fee is $300.
We appreciate Wendy Elvendahl of Minnesota for lovingly sponsoring Elizabeth.

    Grayson

I am a 12 lb, black and white Pekingese boy. I am 16 yrs old.
I am a retired breeder. My life hasn't been too pleasant up until now, but even though I wasn't loved before, Mom and Dad are certainly making up for it now. I am learning what belly rubs and cuddles are all about and am loving it! There is nothing better than being hugged and held close. The toys are really fascinating and I think I may just like this invention. Because of my prior neglect my left eye is shrinking and I am blind in my right eye. I will need to be on eyedrops for the remainder of my life. I can be a bit alpha so a home where I am the one and only would be great or with a pupster sister or brother that is non alpha. A fenced in yard is a must and no children please.
Because I am a senior, my diet is an extremely important factor in my overall health. I am an adorable 18 yr old, 9 lb sable Pekingese boy. I was found as a stray and due to my age was facing euthanization, but thank goodness for angels!
When I first arrived I could hardly walk. With water therapy, nutritious food and natural supplements I now get around great. I love everyone I meet and am quite the character. I love all of the other pupsters here and enjoy snuggling with them. I sure love the soft beds and yummy treats! I am sight impaired. My favorite thing is being held and cuddled. I have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and am on appropriate medications for my condition. I can't wait to meet my Forever Mom/Dad and hope that they can be home with me most of the time. A fenced in yard is a must and no children please.

I am a beautiful 14 yr old blonde and white Pekingese girl. I weigh 10 lbs.
My Mom had some medical issues so I came to stay with the PATR crew until I can find my Forever Home.
I am a sweet little girl and love to be held and cuddled. I enjoy being outside and love to go for walks. I play well with the other pupsters, but can be a bit alpha so being an only dog in the household would be great. I have lost my right eye due to glaucoma and am blind in my left eye, but I get around wonderfully and this does not slow me down a bit. I do have bilatteral luxating patellas and am on medication. I am looking forward to my new home.

I am a retired breeder. Life is definitely looking up for me. I have not lived a very pleasant life, but now I am surrounded by love. Lots of toys, cushy beds, a large play area, total freedom and most of all lots of hugs and kisses. I get along great with the rest of the pupsters and enjoy snuggling with them at naptime. I can be a bit shy at times, but once I get to know you I am a little lovebug. I would love a home where Mom/Dad could be home with me most of the time. I am a very sweet 11 yr old, 10 lb sable Pekingese girl. I am a retired breeder. I was born on December 23, 2005
I am enjoying being here with all of the pupsters and cuddling up next to them. The toys are great and the beds are so soft and comfortable. I am a loving little girl who greets everyone with tail wagging ready to dole out my special kisses. I look forward to bedtime when I can snuggle close to Mom and Dad. I do have dry eye and am on eye drops twice a day. It would be wonderful if Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7. I would love a fenced in yard and prefer a home with no children.

Things are wonderful here and I am enjoying life to the fullest. There is always something exciting happening and I make sure I am right in the middle of it. I try to help Mom whenever she is taking pictures, working on the computer and jump right in for my lovins'. I get along great with the other pupsters and enjoy our playtimes. I just know there is a wonderful home out there for me where I will be loved forever. I do have dry eye and am on eye drops twice a day. I am a lovable, gentle little girl who enjoys laptime and cuddles. I get along wonderfully with all of the other pupsters. I enjoy being outside and observing all that is going on around me. I had to have nasal fold surgery for the hair was scratching my little eyes. I have Pigmentary Keratitis and Epiphora (excessive tearing). I am on eye medications 3 times per day. I am a beautiful white and cream 12 lb Pekingese girl. I was found as a stray and dropped off at a local vets office thank goodness. I was getting very scared out on the streets alone. I am approximately 7 yrs old.
I would love a home that can provide me with daily walks, some play time and of course some cuddle time. I am very sweet and affectionate. I just know I will be the perfect companion to that special someone and guarantee the time we have together will be some of the best moments ever. I get along great with the other pupsters but would be fine if I were the one and only. My right eye is genetically deformed. I'm going to be better suited for a family without young children. I would love a fenced in area and if possible a Mom/Dad that could be home with me 24/7.

I am a very playful, energetic 14 yr old Pekingese girl. I was born on September 10, 2002 and weigh 8 lbs. I am a beautiful sable girl with a black mask.
I am enjoying my retirement from the breeding world and all the pupsters definitely know that I have arrived! I am one busy little girl, full of energy and lots of love. I am a bit nervous when I do not know you, but once I am comfortable I will win your heart over. I can be a bit sassy at times, but Mom says she loves my Pekey attitude. I get along well with the other pupsters, but can be a bit "alpha" so need a home all to myself or with a pupster that will accept me as being the boss. I do have bilatteral luxating patellas and am on medication. It would be great if my special Mom/Dad could be home with me 24/7 and a fenced in yard is a must.
Because of my health concerns, my diet is extremely important. Mom wanted to feed us the very best diet available, so Peke A Tzu Rescue became a distributor for Oma's Pride Raw Food products.
