Hi Auntie Jan,
It's been a while since I emailed you and thought I'd give you an update. My Mom took me to the doctor to get some skin growths removed and it turned out ok but my stitches were awfully itchy. They cleaned my teeth too and even had to take a little one out that was loose. Mom told me that I had a birthday on Oct. 1st and am now 11 years old. I got an extra treat so it must have been a special day.
Last week Uncle Dennis, Auntie Stacey and Cousin Alex came to visit from Wisconsin. We had a lot of fun and I got to go along to see lots of new places. One place was called the ocean and I got to go on the beach. Cousin Alex gave me and the kitties lots of loving. It's pretty quiet now that they're gone. Mom gets to work out of the house most of the time now, so I get even more attention during the day. She keeps telling me how spoiled I am, but she can't resist my big puppy eyes and kisses when I want something.
Take care of all the other pupsters and find good homes for them too.
Miss you.
Love,
Laya

Hi Jan,
Now that the weather is nicer and Laya has been taking me for walks in the
morning and evening, we've been making lots of friends in the
neighborhood. She is very popular with all of the other pupsters we meet
along the way. Normally she just goes to say the initial hello and then
wants to get on her way. My friend's neighbor has a Yorkie pup that goes
absolutely crazy when he sees Laya.
I don't know if she could be spoiled any more than she was, but somehow
I've managed to do it! After breakfast, Laya gets a Greenie. I swear
that she'd rather just have the Greenie. Usually it's gone in about 10
minutes, but some days she tries to find a "secret" hiding place for a
piece. Have to make sure the cats won't find it!
Laya has brought such joy into my life. I don't know what I ever did
without her.
Take care.

Hi Auntie Jan,
I love my new forever home even though there are these 3 troublesome cats that are always trying to play with my toys or sleep in my bed. Sometimes I follow them around and right at the last minute when they jump up on the counter, I'll act like I'm going to catch them. My Auntie Stacey and Uncle Dennis from Wisconsin thought I would be cute in a "Princess Laya" hat they found on their trip to Disney World..........so guess what I got for Christmas?
TC and Jasmine always think that I smell funny after I come home after getting my hair cut and insist on checking me out. They can really be annoying sometimes.
I miss all of you, but my forever mom keeps me busy and I really enjoy going for rides in the car with her. Of course, my favorite place is on her lap or snuggling next to her in bed - with all the cats!!! One night Jasper even slept next to me. I just wish he would've quit purring..............
I'm sending you some pictures. Hope you enjoy.
Love and puppy kisses,
Laya

Hi Jan,
Just got Laya groomed for the holidays and couldn't resist getting a picture in front of the tree. She is just too cute.
Happy Holidays.

Hi Jan,
Laya has adjusted very well and is such a joy. She loves going for walks and rides in the car. We usually go "shopping" to PetsMart every weekend. She is fussy with her treats, but she loves the Greenies petite bones. Today she was saving it and trying very hard to find a hiding place that the kitties wouldn't find. She definitely knows that I'm her Mom now and looks for me even when there are other people around.
Thanks for letting her come into my life.

Hi Jan,
Laya is just such a little love and so sweet. I couldn't have asked for a better pup. I've been coming home at lunch time to let her out and she is doing very well. She likes to lay in the corner of the kitchen when I'm gone, so I put her bed there. Today, when I came home I didn't find her at first and went upstairs. She was laying in my laundry basket in the closet. What a laugh I had. Maybe I'll give her one of my T-shirts in her bed tomorrow. Tonight she was very good laying next to me in the chair with my Maine Coon cat - TC on my lap wanting loving. I could see in her eyes that she wanted to chase him away, but as long as I was petting her and talking to her, she was fine. TC is bigger than her anyway and he kept stretching out sticking his feet out on her. Guess I can't blame her if she wanted to chase him.
Take care,
Sue

Hi Jan,
Just wanted to give you an update on Laya. After we spoke, I had about a 1/2 hour ride on a bus to my car. Laya was very good and the bus driver let me keep her on my lap. It took her awhile to notice the catsonce we got home, but she definitely likes to bark at them and chase them, so we'll have a few weeks of an adjustment period for that.
She slept good on the bed next to me and we were up at 6am to go potty. About 6:50am, she went to the slider (I'm taking her out off the deck in the back) and she went out to poop. She hasn't eaten her breakfast yet, but I did give her some food last night.
She follows me around and we snuggled in my chair while I had my coffee this morning. I'm going to take her to PetsMart today and get a harness and some toys. We played a little while with one of the cat toys earlier today.
I'll send some pictures later.
Take care,
Sue
